- Most exciting thing that happened to me since '72: I have to say it is my kids.
I am blessed with four wonderful children. I absolutely adore them and am proud of all their accomplishments.
I even decided to start another family after my second marriage to Judy. These kids are what I live for.
- Funniest thing that happened since 72: While on a consulting engagement in Rochester, NY, my collegues and
I took a Booze Cruise on Lake Ontario. We were on the upper deck of the boat and had to buy our own drinks.
RPS (Roadway Package Systems) had a party on the first deck of the boat with an open bar.
Two of us decided to crash their party and signed ourselves in as their guests.
We began to mingle with the crowd and of course, made numerous trips to the bar.
The party hostess came up to us and wanted to chat with us. Not wanting to be caught, my collegue and
I started a story about how we were working together to revolutionize the trucking industry.
Our story got bigger and bigger as it went on. The hostess was so impressed, she brought the National Sales Manager over to meet us.
We concocted the story on how we were working on a project to scan boxes and digitize them and
then send them over the telephone lines to the other end.
We only had one problem...we couldn't get the boxes out of the other end, and were working on how to fix it.
We had them believing this story for about five minutes and then I burst out laughing.
At that time, they suspected we were imposters. We told them what we had done and they were rolling with laughter at our stunt.
In the end, we got to remain at their party, and my other collegues who didn't want to join us, had to pay for their drinks
the rest of the evening. I even got a date with the hostess after the boat cruise.
There are too many other stories to mention, however, lets just say that my consulting career has been colorful.
As my boss used to put it, my CLM (Career Limiting Move) file was so large that
they had to obtain extra file space in the building.
I have been designated the President of the Royal Dirtbag Society and Fun Team by my peers, and honor which I cherish!
