2002 Reunion Pictures: ![]() Jon and Debby at the picnic ![]() Jon and daughter Emily |
Occupation: Building and excavation Contractor Education: I studied Diesel mechanics and equipment operations at ATS, a vocational school near Glassbourgh, NJ and finished with highest grade average in my class. Married: Very, and Debby Elliott is very "Significant" Children: Emily, 13 and awesome. Matt, 11 and a person all his own with all the possibilities. Most exciting thing: This may sound a little dull to some, but the arrival of my children changed my life. Funny stories: yes but none that I will put in writing.(Except maybe the one below...) (Please don't show the following story to my kids...) Teacher: I truly hated school. I never gave any teachers enough consideration to make any impact. When we were about to graduate, or about to take regents, I was in the main office, and one of the ladies, maybe Mrs. Meyers, asked how it was going to be like out of school. I was taking two history's, failing them both, and failing math. It didn't look good for me. The work was a piece of cake, I just hated doing it. I probably would have not graduated except, at that very moment Mr. Stafford,(and I use Mr. very liberally),came in behind me and said," He'll never get out of school. He'll never pass my class. I will be teaching him for years." This made me some mad. To top it al off, Pat Alger, Ray Harrington, and I got suspended that afternoon for cutting class and going swimming. For three days during final exams!!!!!!!!. I had to schedule time with all the teachers to take my tests. Life is a series of thin threads. Stafford had given me such anger but also great determination. The extra three days off gave me time to cram. I passed all my finals and regents, and most were in the 90's. I had hoped to see Stafford on the street and thank him for being such an ass. I'm glad I never did because now I am thankful. He truly changed my life. He did what he could to motivate me and it worked. Now, that is a true story that few have heard. Good to hear from you, Jon Kogut 343 Harris Hill Rd. Morris, NY 13808 607-263-5717 jkogut@wpe.com |
