| Caroline Pauline was born to Charles (anglicized version of "Karl") and Mary (nee.Martin) Gugel on June 13, 1911. Karl Adolf Gugel was born in Stuttgart-Plieningen, Germany in 1875, and Mary Martin was born in New York City around 1880. Mary's parents were born in or around Munich, Bavaria. Karl died in 1939, and Mary died in 1958. All of Charles and Mary's children, six of whom lived to adulthood, were born in New York City. Only Emily (Schaefer) survives. |
